A signed and named console or writing table by Alan Grainger known as "Acornman". This table is part of an Arts and Crafts movement known as the "Yorkshire Critters" made up of a band of apprentices and strong followers of Robert "Mouseman" Thompson. Displaying a versatility for both decorative and practical needs it is constructed of solid oak throughout (including drawer bottom). English, c.1940
