the beautifully patinated mahogany top with incised corners and reeded edges, the outer edge crossbanded in rosewood, having three frieze drawers to each side and two long dummy drawers at each end, with cockbeaded edges and interesting gilt-brass ring handles retained by scrolling acanthus-leaf brackets, raised on end supports united by a ring turned stretcher, the reeded sabre legs terminating in brass castors capped with pretty lion masks castors, English circa 1800, in wonderful original condition but requiring some restrained and sympathetic restoration
