C19th Painted Malt Shovel
A large and unusual Malting Shovel hand shaped from one piece of sycamore, the pleasingly curved handle with hole for hanging, shaped rounded stem and oversized scoop, used to turn the malt during the drying process in preparation for brewing beer, all in the original worn dark painted finish. English circa 1850
